Last year was my first time attending UtopYA Con. In fact, my book hadn't even officially released yet! I had advanced reader copies of Never Forgotten for the Friday night signing. My first. Signing. Ever. It was a little overwhelming to say the least, but I met some amazing, amazing people. I was surprised by how friendly and open everyone was. It was truly a fun experience where you can just be yourself. How refreshing is that? My favorite thing about UtopYA Con: the people. I was able to meet the lovely ladies of Clean Teen Publishing in person for the first time, as well as my fellow CTP authors who attended: Sherry Ficklin, Jon Messenger, and Julie Wetzel. I also met Jo Michaels, Casey Bond, Nichole Greene and Tia Silverthorne Bach - four extremely talented women with whom I have co-authored the Fractured Glass anthology. Working with them was such a positive, fun experience. I honestly hope I have the opportunity to do it again. This proves that you don't just "meet people" at UtopYA, you make lifelong friends! Do you like pretties? Do you like swag? Come to UtopYA and hit the jackpot. Seriously, I could not believe the gorgeous things that authors were giving away. Then there are the books themselves. Beautiful covers, engaging stories, strong leads and swoon-worthy love interests. The visual stimuli is almost overwhelming. You will enter a world of creativity and gorgeousness. I could go on and on, but if you're like me, you'd rather see the fun stuff. PICTURES!

Guarding Brecken Shaefer—a dark and dangerous rebel—is harder than it looks. Death was nothing like sixteen-year-old Alisa Callahan thought it would be. Resting on pink, fluffy clouds for eternity with her gram and best friend sounded like a dream come true. After all, enduring one torturous experience after another in her short life deserved some kind of reward, right? Unfortunately, eternal rewards aren't given out so freely when you take your own life. Required to pay the debt for committing suicide, Alisa must become a guardian. It sounds easy enough, but not when the boy she is forced to protect has a dangerous secret and wants absolutely nothing to do with her. Brecken Shaefer isn't any normal teenager. He has special gifts that are sure to make Alisa's afterlife miserable. When feelings develop between them, everything spins out of control. Not only must Alisa face her own demons— but to protect Brecken, she must face an evil so heinous that it threatens to destroy their souls completely. Alisa is tired of hiding from her past.
